Chip is a frequent sponsor and volunteer for events put on by the River Legacy Foundation. The foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) that was formed as a unique public/private partnership with the City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department in 1988. The key initiative of River Legacy Foundation is to educate the next generation of environmental stewards using the resources of River Legacy Parks and River Legacy Nature Center. Starting with children as young as 3 years old, these environmental education programs expose children to the wonders of nature and their place in it. Through education, River Legacy Foundation preserves the Trinity River and its unique ecosystem. Click here to learn more about River Legacy.

Chip is a former assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 421. He serves as a merit badge counselor as needed. Chip has taken his Venture Crew Scouts to Philmont twice and still enjoys high adventure in the outdoors.
